What is a morkie? - A morkie is a cross between a Maltese and a Yorkie. The morkie is a designed breed, or a cross breed. The morkie is a fairly new designer breed, but there are a few morkie breeders out there. If you are looking for morkies in Ontario, or Morkies in Canada then this is the right site.
Appearance - The morkies seem to look a bit more like the yorkies, but a bit fluffier and a slight difference in their facial composition. There is not a lot of morkie info out there right now because they are fairly new, but judging by the results of other mixed breeds we know that typically the appearance is determined by a mix of the mother and father. If you want morkie info regarding the look of your puppy then it is a good idea to see the mother and father. This will give you a good idea of what your morkie will look like.
Morkie appearance - A morkie will take on a mix of the maltese and the yorkie. Typically a dominant gene will be present in the puppy's. Thus if the father is dark and the mother is light, the morkie puppies will likely be dark, or have dark coat with spots of light colouring.
Morkie Height - Morkies will likely be between 6-9 inches tall
Morkie Weight - Morkies will typically be about 7 or 8 pounds
Morkie Life expectancy - Because of the long life expectancy of yorkie's and maltese the morkie is expected to live 12-15 years and possible longer. The reason the morkie life span is not know is because the breed is only a few years old, however the life span of a morkie can be predicted by taking the life span of a yorkie and maltese. This is how we came to the conclusion of 12-15 years

Morkie puppies are born very small they are about the size of a full grown hampster. When morky puppies are born they will fit in the palm of your hand, here is a picture of a litter of morkies

Morkies (well the Yorkshire terrier, or Maltese) will typically have 3-6 puppies in a litter. The colour of the morkie puppies will be close to the colour they will be when they are older (but not exact). Morkies can range in colour from brown, white and usually a black and brown mix.
